Mosotho is an independent newspaper published on Mondays in the local Lesotho language spoken by majority of the population. It is the highest circulating newspaper with its distribution reaching both urban and rural areas every Monday of the week. The paper writes mainly about Basotho’s culture and traditions and news concerning the monarch and chieftainship are given special attention. It however covers politics, entertainment, sports and business as well as international news in Sesotho language. With majority of rural readers unable to read and write English, Mosotho becomes the only paper available in almost every village and can be read by anyone who knows how to read and write.
